• Time to Support your Candidate for the 2012 Women in Poker Hall of Fame


    Las Vegas, NV (May 7, 2012) – The Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF) board announced open nominations this morning for the 2012 inductions. The WiPHoF dinner and ceremony is taking place August 31st,2012 at 6PM at the Golden Nugget Casino Grand Ballroom in Las Vegas. It is the “kick off” event for the US Ladies Poker Championship weekend of events. Mistress of Ceremonies is Jan Fisher with a special guest speaker for your entertainment.
    The WiPHoF Board has been diligent in making changes that will secure the on-going success of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame. This year, the eligibility for nomination and the voting process has been changed to better serve and broaden the scope of eligible candidates.
    Candidates must meet the following requirements:
    A. A candidate must have been active as a player or industry leader for a minimum of 10 years prior to election and 35 yrs of age or older.

    B. Player/industry leader must have contributed to the world of poker in some significant way. This person can qualify by either winning major poker tournaments, or by making significant contributions to the industry of poker.

    C. Player/industry leader must be a proponent of women in poker.

    D. All nominees must be approved by a committee of the Board of Directors and the Inductees.

    E. Nominees must agree to terms & conditions of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.
    This nomination process is open from now until Friday, May 18th, 2012.
    Although the nomination process is public, the voting process has changed. Each current member of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame, the Board and selected members of the media will now cast 10 votes each. They may give all of their votes to one candidate, or cast them over several candidates in any number until they reach their allotted 10 votes.
