    Sept 15, 2012
Americas Cardroom is pulling out all the stops this weekend to get more online poker players into the Punta Cana Poker Classic. The Grand Finale tournament of its Freeroll Super Series, which will see the top 500 poker players since February compete for three Punta Cana Poker Classic packages, gets underway on Saturday at 3pm ET.

On Sunday September 16th, the online poker site is guaranteeing another four packages at 7:30pm ET, open to all real-money online poker players, including those in the US.

The Freeroll Super Series kicked off in early February 2012. Since launching the series, Americas Cardroom has hosted 1,855 free poker tournaments, featuring a total of 1,008,151 combined players. Over $50,000 in cash and tournament entries have been handed out through three rounds of daily, weekly, and monthly tournaments.

Americas Cardroom held eight Round 1 qualifiers every day, with a $0 buy-in. Each free online poker tournament awarded between 10 and 50 entries in the weekly Round 2 tournament, which was held every Saturday.

For every five players in the Round 2 tourney, one Round 3 entry was handed out. The Round 3 monthly tournament awarded $3,000 in total prize money to the top 100 players. Round 3 also awarded leaderboard points to poker players. The top 500 players ranked on the leaderboard earned a seat in Saturday’s Grande Finale.

The series culminates this Saturday at 3pm ET when the 500 top players in the series will compete for three Punta Cana Poker Classic packages worth $5,000 apiece. Each package includes one Main Event buy-in, 6-night hotel accommodations for two, all-you-can-handle food and drinks (alcohol included) for two, airfare up to $800, a $1,500 resort credit, 24-hour premium room service for two, a welcome gift bag, ground transportation in Punta Cana, and more.

Entering its third year, the Punta Cana Poker Classic tournament takes place at the Vegas-style Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Dominican Republic from October 12th through 18th with a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000.

Unlike previous Caribbean tournaments hosted by other poker networks where online poker players had to purchase expensive food and alcohol, the Punta Cana Poker Classic awards Americas Cardroom winners with a bracelet that gives them access to unlimited food and beverages 24/7. Hotel rooms are well stocked with beer and liquor, room service is available whenever poker players crave it, and over a dozen restaurants and delis are ready to cater to package winners.

Poker players who missed winning a Punta Cana Poker Classic through the Freeroll Super Series aren’t out of luck. The online poker site is guaranteeing four Punta Cana Poker Classic prize packages this Sunday, September 16th at 7:30pm ET. The buy-in for the tournament is $250+15 and lower buy-in qualifiers are now live.
